Our program fosters intellectual curiosity using exciting and challenging interdisciplinary, theme-based learning units that help our students:

  • Build a solid ethical foundation based on Christian values as articulated through the Episcopal tradition.
  • Develop a strong sense of global citizenship and cultural literacy.

Curriculum Approach

Our curriculum is research-based and age-appropriate.  Our students will meet and exceed NYS Standards in:

  • Language Arts :  We create a language-rich environment and develop strong literacy skills through daily exposure to high quality children’s literature, including the classics, and regular writing.

  • Math :  Our math program balances conceptual development and the development of a strong number sense using hands-on manipulatives and connections to real world applications.
  • Science :  Our science program engages students in authentic investigations as they explore their world – both inside and outside the school.  It is modeled on the exemplary Science Start program endorsed by the National Science Foundation. For an introduction on this program please watch this video .
  • Social Studies :  An emphasis on History and Geography will lead to an exploration of major world cultures and historical events as we seek to develop each child’s cultural literacy.
